Full Job Description Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SpEd Tutor for our south bay families/students in the San Jose and Sunnyvale areas. (Iep, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dysgraphia) Bright, eager students needing Language Arts and Math help using step by step instruction, with patience and praise. Tutoring to take place at the student's home. NO Online Tutoirong for these students. Some weekday/daytime hours are required with flexibility. No eves or weekends. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and be able to provide educational and motivational support with engagement skills using kindness, care and patience. A teaching credential is not required; experience with working one-on-one, small group or classroom tutoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent tutoring using positive reinforcement and building self confidence.
• Skilled tutoring, teaching using the student's own curriculum and real time assignments.
• Ability to simplify concepts, help build better study habits and organizational skills if needed.
• Help to improve academic performance and praise small victories with a step by step approach.
• Assist students with guidance and understanding of course materials and meeting their individual academic needs.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum Bachelor's degree.
• Former teachers/subs are encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in Language Arts and Math.
• Minimum 2 years experience working with SpEd students.
• Excellent communication skills with Parents, Students, Company Admin.
• Simplify concepts and adaptability with different student earning styles.
• Basic technical skills for reporting sessions on our tutor platform, writing concise student progress notes, and communicate in a timely manner.
