Lafayette, CA Job Details Part-time $30 - $50 an hour 23 hours ago Benefits 401(k) Flexible schedule Qualifications Some college In-person tutoring Working with high schoolers Working with students Geometry Constructive feedback (student motivation techniques) Full Job Description Lafayette Academy has summer and school-year openings in our Lafayette location and online. We pay $30 - $50/hour, with flexible scheduling. We are looking for experienced tutors for SAT Prep and AP Subjects. Please do NOT contact us if you have not attended college or you do not have experience tutoring high school students. Here are just a few of the reasons you should contact us: 1) You can earn $30-$50/hour, and you get paid for late cancellations and no-shows. 2) You don't meet students in their homes or coffee shops -- everything happens in our centers or online. 3) We have a lot of smart tutors who enjoy each other, AND students who want our help. 4) This is a particularly good opportunity for longer-term employment, but we also hire a lot of people on their way to grad school. Lafayette Academy is a fantastic place to work, and many of our tutors have been with us for several years. We're known for our relaxed, comfortable environment and positive approach to tutoring. We were named "Best of the East Bay" 5 years in a row and NEVER asked anyone to vote for us! We're open 6 days a week (during the school year), and you can tutor 8-32 hours per week (it's up to you). Our summer tutoring hours are Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. During the academic year, we tutor Monday-Thursday 2:30-9:30, Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. You do NOT tutor all of the hours that we are open - tutors create their own schedules. All tutoring takes place in our Lafayette Learning Center or online. If you're looking for 40 hours per week, we may have some projects that you can work on to get more hours. We're looking for smart, engaging, honest people with strong character who genuinely care about helping high school (and middle school) students. Do you want to work here? If so, please follow the three steps below: 1) Send us your resume. 2) Send a cover letter that includes: The specific subjects that you can comfortably teach (e.g. "geometry" is specific, "math" isn't; "comfortable" means without having to look stuff up) Your tutoring experience and/or why you're interested in Lafayette Academy Dates & Hours Available Preferred # of Tutoring Hours Per Week (a range is okay): Available Days and Times for the School Year (e.g. Monday & Wednesday 5:30 - 9:30) and Summer We hope to hear from you soon, The Folks at Lafayette Academy https://lafayetteacademy.com
