Title:
Academic Tutoring- Tutor I, Tutor II, Tutor III (Temporary Part-Time)
Position Summary:
Tutor students to improve their academic performance, retention, and graduation rates.Department:
Academic Tutoring Location:
Tutors will work from one or more of the five Pellissippi State campuses or virtually.Pay Rate:
Tutor I:
Less than 1 year of experience, $16.00 per hourTutor II:
1-3 years of experience, $17 per hourTutor III:
3+ years of experience, $19 per hourDuties and Responsibilities:
90%- Tutor students individually and in groups. Adapt tutoring methods to meet students' varying needs and interests. Tutor through questioning, discussion, and demonstration. 4%
- Complete tutor training activities and submit required paperwork. 2%
- Communicate with Academic Tutoring personnel. 2%
- Visit classes and attend events to promote tutoring services. 1%
- Confer with other tutors and teachers to resolve students' problems. 1%
- Refer students to other departments/resources within the College.
