As the SAT has transitioned to a digital format, familiarity with the Bluebook testing platform and adaptive question structure is essential. In this role, you will deliver personalized, one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to each student's strengths and weaknesses in math. Your expertise will support students in mastering algebra, advanced math concepts, problem-solving, data analysis, and geometry fundamentals critical for success on the SAT Math section. Tutoring sessions may take place in students' homes, online, or at our Livingston, NJ office. We accommodate your preferred travel radius for in-person sessions and offer statewide online tutoring opportunities. Requirements Requirements Proven expertise in SAT Math with hands-on experience tutoring the digital SAT (post-March 2024) including familiarity with the Bluebook app and adaptive module structure. Strong knowledge of algebra, functions, nonlinear equations, problem-solving and data analysis, and geometry/trigonometry fundamentals. Demonstrated track record of improving student SAT Math scores, with ability to share specific examples upon interview. Bachelor's degree or higher in math, education, or a related field; teaching certification is a plus but not required. Excellent communication skills for working effectively with high school students and their parents. Flexibility to work after school, evenings, and weekends with peak demand before major test dates (April-June and September-November). Comfortable with educational technology including Zoom/Google Meet, online scheduling, and progress tracking tools. Reliable transportation for in-home tutoring sessions within preferred travel radius. Nice to Have High personal SAT Math score (750+). Experience tutoring ACT Math as well. Background in teaching high school math or test prep. Experience leading small-group tutoring sessions. Bilingual abilities (Spanish, Mandarin, or other languages common in the communities served). Benefits Compensation & employment status Pay range: $40-50/hour. Reflecting the specialized content knowledge and score-impact accountability the role requires. W-2 (default): Most part-time tutors join as W-2 employees. Teacher Tutors handles payroll, taxes, and carries professional liability insurance covering W-2 tutors during scheduled sessions. 1099 (optional): Tutors who prefer 1099 contractor status are welcome, provided they carry their own professional liability insurance and operate through a registered LLC. Documentation will be requested during onboarding.
