Company Overview Ally Learning LLC is a dynamic tutoring company located in Novi, MI, dedicated to providing affordable and high-quality educational support. Our mission is to close the achievement gap through effective after-school tutoring and test preparation services. We pride ourselves on our diverse team of highly trained tutors who are committed to fostering a supportive learning environment. Position Overview We are seeking patient, empathetic, and experienced Tutors to support high school-level students and adult learners in achieving their academic and personal goals. This role involves in-person tutoring in the Rochester Hills area. Flexibility is key, with sessions scheduled on weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays to accommodate students busy lives. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one academic tutoring and mentorship for high school-level students in the academic areas of math, science, english language arts, and social studies. Support students navigating educational gaps Implement trauma-informed and culturally responsive instructional approaches Assist with executive functioning, time management, and study skills coaching Support students with IEPs/504 Plans, and coordinate accommodations when necessary Track progress, communicate with program staff, and adjust strategies as needed Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology. Familiarity with Zoom is preferred. Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing Proficient in using online learning platforms (i.e. Khan Academy, IXL) Must be comfortable delivering instructions and engaging students virtually and in-person Ideal Qualifications 1+ years of experience in academic tutoring or mentorship required (especially with college-level students and adult learners) Experience supporting learners with disabilities, IEPs/504 plans, or executive functioning needs Patient, empathetic, and adaptable teaching style Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices Associate's degree or college experience required (Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields preferred) Establish a good rapport with students and parent(s). Must Complete online tutor logs that communicate students' progress to parents via the online TeachWorks system. Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students. Mastery in high school alegbra and science Must be comfortable with SAT and ACT standardized testing assistance At least one year's experience in teaching/instruction Must have previous experience working with high school students or college students Must have patience, a positive attitude, and be able to cultivate student's interest in their own academic success Ability to express good judgment in the role of mentor and academic advisor Schedule Flexible part-time hours (2-4 hours/week), based on your availability Sessions may take place on weekdays evenings or Saturdays If you are excited about making a difference in students' lives and thrive in a flexible, supportive environment, we invite you to apply today and join the Ally Learning team!
