Overview Join our dynamic educational team as a Reading and Math Tutor, where your passion for teaching and dedication to student success will make a meaningful difference. In this paid role, you will work closely with students of diverse backgrounds to enhance their literacy and numeracy skills through engaging, personalized instruction. Whether in person or online, you'll empower learners to reach their full potential by applying innovative teaching strategies and adapting to each student's unique learning style. Responsibilities Develop and implement customized lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and meet individual student needs in reading, writing, and mathematics. Utilize learning technology tools to create interactive lessons that enhance understanding and engagement. Conduct tutoring sessions across various formats, including online instruction, to accommodate different learning environments. Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adjusting instructional approaches accordingly. Support students with special education needs by applying instructional adaptability and differentiated teaching methods. Prepare students for standardized tests such as the SAT through targeted preparation tutoring sessions. Skills Strong knowledge of curriculum development principles for reading, English language arts, and mathematics. Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying learning styles. Proficiency in learning technology platforms and online instruction tools. Excellent communication skills to clearly explain concepts and foster a supportive learning environment. Ability to adapt instruction based on individual learning styles and educational needs. Demonstrated experience in tutoring science, math, or English language arts at various educational levels. Skilled in lesson planning, classroom management, and working with children or adult learners in both formal and informal settings. Knowledge of early childhood education, preschool experience, or childcare is a plus for working with younger students. $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 - 4.0 per week
