$17.00/hour Job Summary Reporting to the Writing Center Coordinator, the Writing Center Advanced Tutor is responsible for tutoring students on an appointment and walk-in basis. The Advanced Tutor is responsible for general office administration of the Writing Center, which may include schedule and calendar maintenance, training work-study students, and general on-campus marketing. Job Duties Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Assist students with building their writing skills. Schedule tutoring appointments as requested. Answer phone and email inquiries from students and faculty regarding the Writing Center. Assist the Writing Center Coordinator with maintaining office records, scheduling, internal marketing, promotion, and outreach. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in English or a closely related field from an accredited institution Experience teaching or tutoring English at the college level Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or higher in English or a closely related field from an accredited institution At least two years of experience teaching English at the college level Conversational ability or fluency in a second language Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

MS Office Suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems; Adobe software Capable of maintaining empathy, positivity, patience, and professionalism
