  • 22 per hour About Us The Learning Lab of Brentwood provides individualized academic support to students throughout Middle Tennessee.
Through one-on-one instruction, we help students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and achieve their educational goals. We are currently seeking an Upper Level Science Tutor to support middle and high school students in a variety of science courses. Position Overview The ideal candidate enjoys working with students and has a strong background in science. Tutors work one-on-one with students to reinforce classroom instruction, strengthen content knowledge, and prepare for quizzes, tests, and exams. Responsibilities Provide individualized tutoring in middle and high school science courses Assist students with homework, classroom assignments, and test preparation Help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills Create a positive and encouraging learning environment Communicate student progress and observations with Learning Lab staff Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled tutoring sessions Preferred Subject Areas Candidates should be comfortable tutoring several of the following: General Science Physical Science Earth Science Biology Chemistry Physics Environmental Science ACT Science Preparation Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Degree in Science, Education, Engineering, Nursing, or a related field preferred Previous tutoring, teaching, or educational experience preferred Strong understanding of middle and high school science concepts Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner Passion for helping students succeed Schedule Part-time Afternoon and evening availability preferred Flexible scheduling based on student demand Compensation $19
