$45•50/hour, DOE About the Family A family with three children ages 10-15 are seeking an experienced Private Tutor to provide individualized academic support for their school-aged children. This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys tailoring learning styles to each child's unique needs while building confidence, accountability, and a genuine love of learning. About the Role This position requires someone who can seamlessly adapt between different learning styles and grade levels. You'll provide focused math support for an 8th grader, enrich learning opportunities for a naturally curious 5th grader, and serve as an encouraging academic coach and accountability partner for a high school freshman who benefits from executive function support. The children are also in other extracurricular activities so each day could often be focused on a different child on a rotational schedule. The ideal candidate is patient, engaging, organized, and skilled at creating structure while making learning enjoyable for an ADHD child. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one tutoring tailored to each child's academic needs. Support an 8th-grade student with middle school mathematics, strengthening understanding and building confidence. Encourage and challenge a 5th-grade student through enrichment activities, critical thinking, and advanced learning opportunities. Partner with a high school freshman by providing homework support, study strategies, organization, time management, and executive function coaching. Help students develop effective study habits and independent learning skills. Communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations with parents. Prepare engaging lessons and supplemental materials as needed. Foster a positive, encouraging, and motivating learning environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred. Previous experience as a private tutor, teacher, learning specialist, or academic coach. Strong proficiency in middle school mathematics. Experience supporting executive functioning, organization, and study skills. Ability to connect with students of varying ages and learning styles. Patient, dependable, creative, and highly organized. Excellent communication skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
