Locations:
Metro Nashville Public School(s): Nashville, TN 37204
Schedule :
"High Dosage Tutor" Monday-Friday, during the school day. In-person Part-time, 2-4 hours per day
Pay:
$22 per hour standard. $23 per hour if bilingual (Spanish or other preferred language based on site request). $24 per hour if credentialed teacher or certificated tutor. In this role, you will: Deliver direct, in-person reading and mathematics instruction to elementary, middle, or high school students during regular school hours Maintain a consistent tutoring schedule with your assigned student group to foster strong, positive relationships and continuous growth Apply specialized intervention, literacy, and numeracy strategies tailored for students with disabilities, students living in poverty, and English Language Learners Utilize effective behavior-management techniques to maintain an engaging and supportive learning environment Execute the assigned MNPS tutoring curriculum with fidelity while tracking student progress through established monitoring tools Complete mandatory initial implementation training, foundational literacy/Science of Reading coursework, and ongoing professional development sessions Maintain all necessary background clearances (TBI/FBI) and educational endorsement standards required for specialized assignments
Minimum Education & Background Requirements Education:
Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree required
Clearance:
Must successfully complete TBI and FBI criminal-history background checks prior to student contact
Availability:
Available for in-person K-5 literacy tutoring during regular school hours and able to maintain consistent group assignments
Required Qualifications & Expertise Instructional Experience:
Direct instructional experience working with elementary, middle, and/or high school students
Subject Matter Competency:
Strong instructional skills and subject-matter expertise in Reading/Literacy and/or
Mathematics Specialized Population Experience:
Proven experience working with students with disabilities, students living in poverty, and/or English Language Learners (EL)
Classroom & Student Management:
Demonstrated ability to build positive student relationships and utilize strong behavior-management techniques
Key Duties & Responsibilities Curriculum & Pedagogy:
Deliver MNPS tutoring curriculum, applying intervention strategies, literacy, numeracy, and progress monitoring
Training & Development:
Complete initial implementation training, foundational literacy/Science of Reading training, and ongoing professional development
Consistency:
Maintain consistent, regular instructional schedules with assigned student groups Preferred Qualifications Specific endorsements or qualifications in Exceptional Education (SPED) or English Language (EL) instruction If you apply and you are qualified, you will be contacted for an interview within 2 days .
