Position Details Role:
Reading/Writing Tutor (Part-Time)
Weekdays:
3:30 - 8:00 PM ( up to 2 hrs/day guaranteed initially )
Sat:
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM ( up to 2 hrs/day guaranteed initially ) • Exact working days and hours may vary based on class schedule. Who We're Looking For We are seeking a dedicated, long-term tutor who can: Teach Reading and Writing to students from elementary through high school . Lead high school-level Literature, Classic Literature, and short story discussion classes. Guide students in critical reading, literary analysis, essay writing, and discussion-based learning. Adapt instruction to support students with varying academic abilities. Build positive relationships with students and families. Lead small-group classes (max 3 students per group) Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging Reading and Writing instruction using Reading Town's structured curriculum. Teach students from elementary through high school, including advanced reading comprehension, literary analysis, and academic writing. Lead high school-level Literature and short story discussion classes that foster critical thinking and analytical skills. Adapt instruction to meet varying student needs within small-group settings (maximum 3 students per group). Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with the Center Director. Foster a positive, supportive, and academically rigorous learning environment Qualifications Strong ability to teach high school-level Reading, Writing, English Language Arts, and Literature. Experience teaching literary analysis, essay writing, and discussion-based classes for middle school and high school students. Candidates must be comfortable teaching high school students; experience with AP English, Honors English, or advanced academic writing is highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Literature, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Ability to work on-site in
