Qualifications:
48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test College hours 15 or high school diploma or GED (with a passing score of 464 on the ParaPro test) for Non-Title I campus Communicate and work with students with disabilities Maintain effective working relationships Minimum clerical skills Good physical and emotional condition Work with confidential material and student records Paraprofessional Educational Aide II certificate required once employed College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
Primary Purpose:
To provide instructional and behavioral assistance to students served in the RISE program.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing all elements of RISE program Assist in maintaining accurate records of students in RISE program. Assist in implementing behavior management strategies. Assist in maintaining student records and charts for determining student progress. Assist in providing re-orientation and instruction to students in RISE classroom. Assist in monitoring student behaviors. Obtain and maintain certification in the CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Other SHARS Duties as assigned. Provide Personal Care as identified in applicable student IEPs.
Equipment Used:
Wheelchair lift, ramps, personal computer, copier, and audiovisual equipment.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling; regular heavy lifting of students. Exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases. Exposure to verbal and physical aggression by students.
