A Tutor works with students who need additional help or review. Provides instruction in an academic subject, or reviews a particular class lesson, or assists with preparing for a test. Works with students one-on-one or in a small group, and usually meets with students outside of school.
From $30.00 per hour Job Requirements Texas Teacher Certification or Bachelor's Degree/BSc in a relevant subject area At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience with Middle School or High School students Strong subject-matter knowledge in the selected Math and/or Science subjects Demonstrated experience teaching Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Biology , or other advanced courses . AP, KAP, or college-preparatory teaching (SAT) experience is strongly preferred Ability to provide one-on-one, in-person tutoring Willingness to travel to student homes in Katy, TX 77494 and Richmond, TX 77407 Strong communication and instructional skills Ability to assess student needs and customize lessons Ability to support homework, assignments, quizzes, tests, and advanced coursework Motivated and committed to helping students achieve their academic goals SPED certification and/or experience working with students with learning differences is a plus and may qualify for a higher tutoring rate Must be available for after-school, evening, and/or weekend sessions
Compensation Starting Rate:
$30.00 per hour Higher rates may be available for tutors with exceptional qualifications, advanced degrees, specialized certifications, AP-level expertise, SPED experience, or extensive teaching experience.
