Monday-Friday, primarily after-school hours Overview Tutoring Center Grades Matter is seeking passionate, patient, and dependable tutors to join our growing team. We work with students from Kindergarten through 12th grade , helping them strengthen academic skills, complete homework, prepare for exams, and build confidence in the classroom. We are looking for tutors who enjoy working with children and teenagers and can explain concepts in a clear, encouraging, and engaging way. Subjects Tutors may work with students in one or more of the following areas: Elementary Math Middle School Math Algebra and Geometry Reading & Reading Comprehension Writing & Grammar Science Homework Help STAAR Preparation SAT/ACT Preparation You do not need to teach every subject. Applicants with strong skills in specific subjects are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Provide academic support to K-12 students in individual and small-group settings Explain concepts in a simple and understandable way Help students complete homework and school assignments Provide additional practice in areas where students need improvement Assist students with test preparation and study skills Follow lesson plans, curriculum materials, and assignments provided by the center Monitor student progress and identify areas requiring additional support Maintain a positive, patient, and structured learning environment Encourage students to become more confident and independent learners Communicate student progress and concerns with center management Maintain professional and respectful interactions with students and families Qualifications Strong knowledge in the subject(s) you plan to tutor Ability to work effectively with children and teenagers Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patient, encouraging, dependable, and professional Ability to explain difficult concepts in different ways Comfortable working with multiple students and grade levels Strong classroom management and organizational skills Reliable attendance and punctuality are required Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or childcare experience is preferred College students and recent graduates with strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply Preferred Qualifications Experience working with K-12 students Knowledge of Texas curriculum and TEKS Experience with STAAR, SAT, or ACT preparation Experience teaching advanced math or science is a plus Education, mathematics, science, English, engineering, or related college coursework is a plus What We Offer Part-time after-school hours Supportive and positive work environment Opportunity to work with students across different grade levels Teaching and tutoring experience Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' academic success Join Our Team If you are passionate about education and enjoy helping students understand challenging concepts, we would love to hear from you.
