Tutor - Reading, Math, Writing, Study Skills

Job Overview Join the team at Huntington Learning Center of American Fork! We're hiring part-time teachers to work with K-12 students in reading, math, writing, study skills, phonics, and exam prep (SAT/ACT). You'll deliver individualized instruction based on each student's Huntington program, helping them build skills, confidence, and academic momentum. You don't need to teach every subject or every grade. We staff based on your strengths — whether that's elementary reading, middle school math, high school writing, ACT prep, or any combination. Tell us what you're great at and we'll build your schedule around it. Responsibilities Deliver one-on-one or small-group instruction using Huntington's individualized programs Adapt pacing and explanations to each student's level and learning style Track student progress in our system and communicate observations to the Center Director and Assistant Directors Maintain a focused, encouraging learning environment Build positive rapport with students and parents Collaborate with the team to adjust programs as students progress What we're looking for Strong content knowledge in at least one of: reading, writing, math, study skills, or test prep Bachelor's degree or higher Prior tutoring, teaching, or classroom experience Patience, warmth, and the ability to keep students engaged Clear communication — able to explain concepts multiple ways until it clicks Reliability and consistency with your scheduled hours Nice to have Experience with struggling readers, dyslexia, or students with IEPs/504s ACT/SAT prep experience Early elementary / phonics experience This is a part-time, in-center position (afternoons and early evenings on weekdays, plus some Saturday mornings). Ideal for current teachers, retired educators, college students in education or content-strong majors, and anyone who loves helping kids make real academic progress.

Pay:

$17.00 - $21.00 per hour
