Job Description

Under the direction of a course instructor, evaluates correspondence, documents, and assessment materials prepared by students as part of their coursework. Maintains a variety of class/student information on the Learning Management System. May tutor individual or small groups of students, as assigned. Grades written assignments totaling at least 15 pages (e.g. essays, position papers, article reviews, not including discussion postings), tests, assignments, and communication postings (e.g discussion board), content and form according to instructor-supplied rubric. Monitors student progress and course participation, tracks missing assignments, and records scores in the Learning Management System (LMS). Edits or updates course syllabus, quizzes, exams or other logistical documentation (not including course content) Evaluates correspondence, documents, and assessment materials prepared by students as part of their coursework. Maintains a variety of class/student information on the Learning Management System. May tutor individual or small groups of students, as assigned. Grades written assignments totaling at least pages e.g. essays, position papers, article reviews, not including discussion postings. Monitors student progress and course participation e.g. on discussion board, track missing assignments and record/upload scores in the Learning Management System. Grades tests, assignments, and communication postings e.g discussion board for participation, content and form, per instructor-supplied rubric. Tutors individuals, small groups, and large study sessions as scheduled by the instructor. Edits/updates course syllabus, quizzes, exams or other logistical documentation. Performs other job related duties as assigned. Must be a current UVU student. Must be a member of the UVU Honors Program. GPA must be 3.0 or better. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, Learning Management System (LMS) and presentation software. Skills in evaluating speeches. Skills in writing lesson plans. Skills in teaching classes. Ability to work independently, make decisions, follow verbal and written instructions, and meet deadlines. Ability to assess student work according to faculty and general instructional standards. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records. Ability to utilize good verbal and written communication skills to provide concrete and effective feedback
