Our mission is simple but powerful: Reimagine Literacy. Rethink Education. Rebuild Confidence. We are partnering with Cowo & Crèche to host a 6-week in-person Summer Reading Camp in Alexandria, VA, and we are seeking certified teachers to join our team as Reading Tutors. This is a part-time, contract position ideal for educators who thrive on structured literacy instruction and want to make a meaningful impact in a small-group, in-person setting. Program Location Cowo & Crèche 2034 Eisenhower Ave, Suite 200 Alexandria, VA 22314 Program Schedule Dates (6 Weeks): June 22-26 July 6-10 July 13-17 July 20-24 July 27-31 August 3-7
Days:
Monday-Friday Session Times:
TBD (each session is 1.5 hours) Compensation $45 per 1.5-hour session Paid weekly Duties Deliver in-person, small-group reading instruction (up to 5 students per group) Follow provided lesson plans, curriculum, and guided reading materials Support students in developing phonics, fluency, and comprehension skills Track student attendance daily Monitor student progress and engagement throughout the program Create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment Communicate professionally with program leadership Implement feedback to continuously improve student outcomes Requirements Certified teacher with an active teaching license Bachelor's degree in education or related field 1-2+ years of classroom teaching experience (required) Experience teaching or tutoring elementary students (K-5) Strong understanding of: Phonics Phonemic awareness Fluency Vocabulary Comprehension strategies Strong classroom management skills in an in-person setting Organized, reliable, and punctual Positive, encouraging, and student-centered approach Open to coaching and feedback Application Requirement In addition to your resume, please submit: A 5-10 minute video of yourself teaching a reading concept (students do not need to be present) A copy of your teaching license Send to: Benefits of Joining Our Team Weekly pay Structured lesson plans and curriculum provided Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity to make a direct, visible impact on student reading growth Potential for future opportunities with The Reading Elevation Blueprint About Us At The Reading Elevation Blueprint®, we believe every child deserves the chance to thrive.
