JOB SUMMARY

To provide quality tutoring to students identified with dyslexia or other reading challenges using the Barton Reading System. Approximately 10 hours/week to start with opportunity to increase hours/week throughout the year.

QUALIFICATIONS

Born-again Christian and credible Christian role model whose godly lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Scriptures Accepts and supports the school's statement of faith and indicates a continuing sense of God's direction in working at Lighthouse Christian School Demonstrated clerical expertise and experience The ability to work efficiently with a service-oriented attitude Proficient communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent personal relations with staff and the public at large Prior training in tutoring Barton Reading and Spelling program is preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Tutor students on pre-determined schedule keeping fidelity to the Barton Reading and Spelling program Maintains written documentation of student's progress through the program Report progress of student at the end of each session in written form Complete necessary training for tutoring modules within the Barton Reading and Spelling program Perform duties as assigned by program coordinators Participate in in-service professional development, devotions, meetings and training as required
