In this energetic role, you will be the cornerstone of fair play, safety, and fun for young athletes eager to learn and compete. Your enthusiasm, clear communication, and sports knowledge will create an engaging environment where children can develop their skills and love for the game. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on young players while honing your leadership and conflict management skills. Duties Enforce game rules and ensure fair play during youth flag football matches, maintaining a lively and positive atmosphere. Make quick, accurate decisions on plays, fouls, and rule violations to keep the game flowing smoothly. Communicate clearly with players, coaches, and spectators to explain calls and promote sportsmanship. Manage conflicts or disputes on the field with professionalism and tact, fostering a respectful environment. Monitor player safety by observing conduct and intervening when necessary to prevent injuries or misconduct. Assist in setting up equipment, organizing game schedules, and ensuring the playing area is safe and ready for action. Complete game reports and record important incidents or rule violations accurately for record-keeping purposes. Experience Prior experience in sports coaching, refereeing, or officiating youth sports is highly desirable. Knowledge of basketball or other team sports enhances your ability to understand game flow and rules. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, coaches, parents, and fellow officials. Experience managing conflicts or difficult situations with patience and professionalism.
