As an umpire, you will be responsible for officiating softball games with enthusiasm, integrity, and professionalism. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to stay active, develop your sports officiating skills, and contribute to a positive sporting environment. Responsibilities Officiate softball games by enforcing rules and making accurate calls on plays, strikes, balls, outs, and safe or out decisions Maintain a high level of focus and impartiality throughout each game to ensure fair competition Communicate clearly with players, coaches, and spectators to explain calls and resolve conflicts promptly Monitor game safety by enforcing rules related to player conduct and sportsmanship Collaborate with fellow umpires and event staff to coordinate game schedules and manage field operations Handle disputes or disagreements professionally using conflict management skills to de-escalate tensions Assist in setting up equipment and preparing the field before each game to ensure readiness Skills Strong knowledge of softball rules, gameplay, and officiating techniques Excellent communication skills to clearly convey calls and instructions in a lively manner Ability to manage conflicts effectively while maintaining a positive attitude Experience or interest in sports coaching or mentoring young athletes is a plus Working with children or youth sports experience demonstrates patience and understanding during games Physical stamina to stand, walk, and move quickly around the field for extended periods Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and enthusiasm for promoting fair play Join us as a Softball Umpire and be part of a vibrant community that values energetic leadership, sportsmanship, and fun!
