Job Description
Ankeny's Parks and Recreation Department is looking for youth basketball officials for the 2026-2027 winter season. Officiate Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball games for both boys and girls, ages 7 to 12years old. Officials will provide leadership and support to promote a fun environment through good sportsmanship and safety for all individuals involved. Non-certified officials earn $14.25/hour Certified officials earn $17.25/hour
•Officials will have the opportunity to stay on with Parks & Rec department as a gym supervisor during the fall/winter if desired.

Officiate youth games accurately and fairly based on good knowledge of the sport and rules. Promote good sportsmanship at all times. Ensure a safe environment for all participants during games. Basketball knowledge and experience is preferred. Will train officials. Must be available on Saturdays, November through February. Pre-employment drug screen and background check required. Must be at least 14 years of age. Physical Requirements Must be able to run and be active during games. Dependable and reliable. Clean and neat appearance. Effective interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution. Work Environment Indoor setting.
