Job Description

Do you want to positively influence the lives of children and youth, encourage families to adopt healthy habits, and meet the needs of your community? The Hampshire YMCA is looking for motivated Youth Center staff to supervise and guide kids during the operation of drop-in Youth Center. This space is meant to be an engaging, productive location for kids to occupy themselves after school, with support from our YMCA staff. The space is equipped with a wide variety of craft and game supplies, pool table and other recreational games, as well as comfortable seating and spaces to do projects and homework.
Job Duties :
Supervise youth utilizing the Youth Center ensuring they are safe, following the rules, and behaving appropriately. Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities based on different themes including sports, arts and crafts, and more Work collaboratively with coworkers, sharing ideas and helping each other. Build positive relationships and rapport with youth and their families. Keep program space clean, safe and organized. Set up activities and materials. Must be at least 16 years of age Childcare experience preferred Availability from 2:30-7:30pm on weekdays required Should enjoy working with children and families Diligence in communication Benefits include a free membership to the Y and the opportunity to participate in a 403(b).
