WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
May include, but not limited to: Provide safety to all private and public ice skating participants while on the ice Scorekeeper for Wings West Adult Hockey League games and/or other hockey events/tournaments. Provide on-ice direction to public/post-game skate participants to maintain safety and flow of the event
WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION
Ability to ice skate and have basic skating skills Ability to communicate and manage patrons on the ice Ability to maintain great customer service at all times Enforce all safety rules related to ice skating and the facility Available for nights and weekends Able to sit or stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours or more Able to stoop and bend Able to lift up to 40 pounds from time to time Able to comply with safety standards Provide customer service Distribute "walkers" to patrons who need assistance skating Assist with collecting money for open ice times (Public Skate, Open Hockey, Sticks & Pucks, & Open Figure Skating) Make sure all dasher doors are closed and secure Make sure no public/post-game skate participants are sitting on the dasher boards Make sure all patrons on ice are wearing skates; patrons without skates are not to be on the ice Make sure patrons do not eat, drink, or smoke while on the ice Make sure patrons are not speed skating Make sure patrons are not weaving in and out of other patrons Make sure patrons are not in officials box Make sure there are no pucks or other non-approved items on the ice during Public Skate Make sure patrons are not kicking holes in the ice Communicate to Ice Events Coordinator any problems that need attention Assist with injured customers
