Evenings, Weekends, and Tournament Dates About The Officials Network The Officials Network is committed to developing the next generation of sports officials while providing quality officiating services throughout the St. Louis area. Through training, mentorship, and real-game experience, we help officials build confidence and professionalism both on and off the court. In partnership with City League Basketball, we are seeking dedicated Basketball Officials who are passionate about the game and committed to creating a fair, safe, and positive environment for players, coaches, and fans. Position Summary Basketball Officials are responsible for enforcing game rules, ensuring player safety, maintaining game flow, and promoting sportsmanship during youth and adult basketball contests. This position is ideal for former players, coaches, students, educators, and anyone interested in becoming a certified sports official. No prior officiating experience is required. Training and mentorship opportunities are available. Responsibilities Officiate basketball games according to league and applicable rule standards. Ensure fair and consistent rule enforcement. Manage game flow, player conduct, and sportsmanship. Communicate professionally with coaches, players, scorekeepers, and league administrators. Arrive on time and prepared for all assigned contests. Work collaboratively with partner officials. Complete incident reports when necessary. Attend required training sessions, clinics, and officials meetings. Represent The Officials Network and City League Basketball in a professional manner. Qualifications Required Must be at least 18 years old. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable transportation or dependable means of attending games. Ability to remain calm and professional in competitive environments. Willingness to learn and accept feedback. Preferred Previous basketball playing, coaching, or officiating experience. Knowledge of NFHS, NCAA, or league basketball rules. Experience working with youth athletes. Interest in officiating other sports through The Officials Network. Physical Requirements Ability to run the length of the court repeatedly throughout games. Ability to stand and move for extended periods. Ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and tournament schedules.
