In this energetic and vital role, you will be the cornerstone of fair play, safety, and fun on the soccer field. Your enthusiasm and commitment will ensure young athletes experience positive, engaging games while learning essential sportsmanship and teamwork skills. Games are played on Saturdays starting at 9am and are at 3 locations, Westgate Community Center, Howard Community Center, and Far East Community Center. Duties Enforce game rules accurately by interpreting soccer regulations and ensuring fair play throughout matches Manage player conduct, resolve conflicts promptly, and uphold sportsmanship standards on the field Communicate clearly with players, coaches, and spectators to facilitate smooth game flow and safety protocols Conduct pre-game inspections to verify equipment compliance and ensure safety standards are met Respond swiftly to emergencies by applying first aid procedures, operating AED devices, or calling emergency services as needed Assist with manual handling tasks such as setting up equipment or moving supplies safely around the field Maintain detailed records of game incidents, rule violations, and safety checks for accountability and reporting purposes Experience Previous sports coaching experience or officiating in sports such as soccer, basketball, or baseball is highly desirable Demonstrated knowledge of sports rules interpretation and player management in officiating roles Experience working with children in sports or educational settings to foster positive engagement and safety Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and safety protocol adherence is preferred but not required Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary for equipment setup or maintenance Strong communication skills to effectively manage conflicts, relay information clearly, and promote a positive sporting environment Familiarity with sports officiating standards across multiple disciplines enhances versatility on the field This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about youth development through sports.
