Teacher:

Field Trip Programs Job Description This is a part time (15-20 hours/week) position leading field trips for 3rd and 4th grade students at Los Vaqueros Reservoir in Brentwood. Total hours vary and depend on your schedule and flexibility, but coincide with school hours. This is a part-time, non-traditional, and rewarding role if it fits with your schedule and lifestyle.

TEACHING AND CURRICULUM

Using existing lesson plans and curriculum, lead groups of 20-34 young people through a hands-on, field trip Curriculum is natural science and water based. Collaborate to create new curriculum, teacher resources, and program revisions Maintain supplies and materials Interact with parent chaperones, teachers, and Contra Costa Water District staff to ensure effective and safe field trips

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL

Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can have fun while learning Be organized, detail-oriented, energetic and flexible Enjoy working in an outdoor environment Able to communicate, multi-task and resolve issues and challenges creatively Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Suite Must drive and thus have access to a reliable vehicle Have a Experience in Experience working with children Background in education and prior experience teaching is a plus Must be able to pass a Live Scan (fingerprinting background checks) and receive a negative TB-Test result
