Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an exciting opportunity to inspire young minds as a Middle School Spanish Teacher in a vibrant educational environment near Washington, DC! This contract role offers the chance to engage students and foster their love of language and culture within a supportive school community. This position focuses on covering one Spanish class for middle school students, with a strong emphasis on immersive instruction primarily conducted in Spanish. If you are passionate about language education, have a collaborative spirit, and thrive working with diverse learners, you'll feel right at home.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
Minimum of two years' teaching experience, ideally at the middle or high school level High proficiency in Spanish, with the ability to conduct classes fully in Spanish Proven classroom management skills, comfortable navigating varied learning needs Experience working successfully with students from diverse backgrounds Strong communication and teamwork skills for close collaboration with the Spanish and Language Team Familiarity with differentiation and various strategies to support learners of assorted abilities Ability to efficiently follow established unit and lesson plans while fostering consistent, high expectations Preferred—but not required—background with IB MYP, proficiency-based, or inquiry-driven teaching methods
