This position focuses on delivering engaging computer science instruction to 6th-grade students in a classroom setting, working with small class sizes of fewer than 20 pupils. The role calls for an energetic educator ready to create a positive, student-centered learning environment. The anticipated assignment runs from August 17, 2026, through June 2, 2027, for 33.75 hours per week in a supportive school environment near Orland Park, IL.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) is required. Prior experience teaching computer science or technology concepts. Background in high school or junior high educational settings is highly valued. Proven track record of career consistency in the field of education. Strong focus on student growth and engagement, not just curriculum delivery. Effective classroom management and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Teach computer literacy and technology concepts to 6th-grade students using innovative and age-appropriate pedagogy. Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the needs of a diverse student body. Maintain a supportive and positive classroom climate that inspires student learning. Collaborate with colleagues and school staff to enhance lesson effectiveness and student outcomes.
