Job Description

Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into the classroom as a dedicated Health Science teacher, inspiring students in a dynamic educational environment near Orland Park, IL. This contract opportunity runs from now through May 21, 2027, and provides an exciting chance to join an esteemed junior high school committed to academic excellence in science education. Drawing on your expertise in general education and science, you'll deliver engaging lessons that spark curiosity and support student achievement. The ideal candidate holds a Health Science endorsement or an equivalent in chemistry, anatomy, or general science, and is certified with a valid teaching license and PEL (substitute licensure is not accepted). Qualifications:
Valid teaching license and Professional Educator License (PEL) Health Science endorsement preferred, or credentials in chemistry, anatomy, or related science field Prior teaching experience in a junior high or secondary science classroom Strong classroom management and communication skills Able to commit to a 33.75-hour, on-site weekly schedule
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver comprehensive Health Science curriculum to junior high students Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback Collaborate with fellow educators and school staff for an integrated educational approach Maintain accurate records of lessons, grades, and student development Take on a role where you can make a difference and foster students' lifelong interest in science, all while working with a talented faculty in a well-respected school setting.
