Job Description
We seek applicants for a part-time instructor to teach for the Paramedic Education Program within the College's Health Sciences division. This position is available in Pontiac, IL. Part-time instructors provide classroom and laboratory instruction consistent with approved program curricula and in coordination with the Program Director, in accordance with CoAEMSP and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) requirements. In addition to teaching, general expectations include: Evaluate student learning outcomes within established protocols. Prepare syllabi for courses taught consistent with established approvals. Manage student issues and problems in a manner consistent with the Student Handbook. Create a learning environment that fosters student success and the attainment of defined learning outcomes on the master syllabus. Demonstrate competence and remain current in the discipline. Use major IT systems necessary for performance of basic job duties including email, grade and required attendance submissions, and learning management systems. Cooperate with Student Success and Enrollment Services staff in advocating for student persistence and completion. Maintain reasonable accessibility to students. Cooperate with College-wide and division instructional goals. Current Illinois Paramedic licensure Two (2) years of experience as a paramedic Availability to be present for class and lab instruction
