This contract opportunity, running from August 17 through May 27, 2027, provides the rewarding experience of teaching and inspiring young minds during the crucial early years of science education. You'll work onsite, engaging directly with students and collaborating with colleagues to foster a dynamic learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field. Possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate science-related endorsement(s). Demonstrate proficiency in curriculum design, lesson planning, and effective instructional strategies. Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with students, faculty, and families.
Your Responsibilities:
Teach science for 6th-grade students, shaping engaging lessons that align with curriculum standards and address varying learning styles. Develop and implement hands-on experiments and activities to ignite enthusiasm for scientific discovery. Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and tailor instruction to meet diverse classroom needs. Collaborate with other grade-level and science teachers to enhance curriculum cohesion and participate in school initiatives. Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and curiosity. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to support student growth and address any concerns.
