POSITION OVERVIEW
Morehouse Parish School District is seeking an innovative and student-centered High School Business Education Teacher to support college and career readiness at Bastrop High School, a Title I campus committed to equity and student success. The ideal candidate will deliver standards-aligned Career and Technical Education (CTE) instruction and equip students with essential business, communication, and workforce readiness skills aligned to Louisiana graduation pathways.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver standards-aligned instruction aligned to Louisiana CTE and Business standards Teach courses in business communication, entrepreneurship, and customer service Develop student workforce readiness and employability skills Integrate technology and business software applications into instruction Provide instruction aligned to career pathways and industry-based credentials Use data and assessments to guide instruction Differentiate instruction for diverse learners Maintain an engaging classroom aligned with PBIS expectations Support career exploration and work-based learning opportunities Collaborate through PLCs Ensure compliance with FERPA, IDEA, and Section 504 Engage families and community partners
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate in Business Education or eligibility through LDOE Knowledge of Louisiana CTE standards and graduation pathways Skills in classroom management and instructional planning Proficiency in business technologies and software tools Understanding of education laws (FERPA, IDEA, Section 504) Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to student success and workforce readiness Documentation required if enrolled in Teacher Preparation Program
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Business or Education 1-3 years of teaching or industry experience Experience in Title I or diverse environments Knowledge of Jump Start pathways and industry credentials Experience with project-based learning or internships Ability to sponsor business-related student organizations Experience with PLC collaboration
