JOB SUMMARY
The Principal Faculty-Clinical supports the clinical education component of the Physician Assistant Program by assisting with the coordination, monitoring, and administration of clinical clerkships. The position collaborates with the Co-Director of Clinical Education, faculty, staff, preceptors, and clinical sites to ensure students successfully progress through the clinical phase of the curriculum and that clinical experiences meet program and accreditation requirements. Duties are focused on clinical operations, student support, site maintenance, and quality assurance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
: Clinical Education Coordination (Approximately 60%) Assist with scheduling and monitoring clinical clerkships. Maintain clinical rotation schedules and student placement records in Exxat. Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of clinical preceptors and sites. Assist with affiliation agreement tracking and renewals. Monitor student compliance requirements and clinical documentation. Collect and review student, preceptor, and site evaluations. Participate in periodic review of clinical sites and identify opportunities for improvement. Assist with orientation activities for incoming clinical-year students. Support return-to-campus activities, including EOR examinations, presentations, and summative assessments. Track student performance during clinical rotations and communicate concerns to the Director of Clinical Education. Serve as a liaison among students, preceptors, and faculty regarding clinical education matters. Participate in selected clinical site visits, primarily regional sites. Maintain accurate records for accreditation reporting and program assessment. Teaching and Student Support (Approximately 35%) Participate in selected clinical-year instructional activities as assigned. Facilitate small group, problem based learning, OSCE and case discussions. Assist in development and maintenance of clinical course materials and syllabi. Provide academic advising and support to assigned students. Program Service (Approximately 5%) Attend program faculty meetings related to clinical education. Participate in accreditation preparation activities as assigned. Support program events, including orientation, admissions, the white coat ceremony, and graduation. Perform other duties related to clinical education as assigned by the Program Director. Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Current NCCPA certification. Current state licensure. A minimum of three years clinical experience. Master's Degree required. Higher Education experience preferred. Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, attention to detail, able to manage deadlines efficiently and effectively. Strong computer skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion is critical. Valid driver's license. Must successfully pass the online Defensive Driving Course and driving record check at time of hire and annually thereafter. Must be committed to a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
