Job Description

The Hockomock Area YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and engaging Youth Cooking Instructors to lead and/or co-lead hands-on cooking and nutrition programs at our Foxboro and North Attleboro branches. Programs take place during after-school hours, school vacation weeks, and throughout the summer, including cooking and baking camps. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about nutrition education, cooking, and working with youth in a fun, supportive environment. Essential Functions Implement recipes and lesson plans developed in collaboration with the Nutrition Director, including hands-on cooking instruction and nutrition education Facilitate engaging discussions around nutrition, scratch cooking, and the benefits of fruits, vegetables, and whole foods Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all participants Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students during program activities Maintain classroom and kitchen equipment and assist with food preparation and supply organization Communicate regularly with the Nutrition Director regarding program progress, participant engagement, and program needs Experience working with children or teens in an educational, recreational, camp, or enrichment setting Interest in cooking, baking, nutrition, and healthy living Basic kitchen skills and a willingness to teach and engage youth through hands-on learning Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Energetic with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently Extremely reliable and dependable Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-paced environment Food safety knowledge or certification is a plus Passion for creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for youth
