The Works Museum Job Posting - June 2026
Job Title :
STEM Educator (Year-round position) Reports to :
Director of Education and Operations Hours:
20-40 hours/week, multiple positions available and number of hours flexible. Core hours occur Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Will also include some evenings and Saturdays.

Wages:
$18.00-$21.75/hour commensurate with experience At The Works Museum, everyone engineers. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of innovators, engineers, and creative problem solvers. Through hands-on exhibits, camps, and educational programs, we spark excitement for science and engineering in all children. Our STEM Educators facilitate engaging programs, including school group workshops, summer camps, and Family Engineering Nights. Programs take place at the Museum, off-site in the Twin Cities metro area, and occasionally greater Minnesota. Responsibilities Facilitate open-ended problem-solving, collaboration, and experiential learning through The Works' core programs, including school group workshops, summer camps, and Family Engineering Nights. Create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all children, families, teachers, and community partners. Follow established lesson plans and teach workshop content aligned with Minnesota Academic Standards in Science and related STEM learning goals. Collaborate with education team members to develop, revise, and improve curriculum. Prepare, maintain, and inventory program supplies and equipment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Elementary Education, Secondary STEM Education, or a STEM field. At least two years of experience working with elementary children in an informal or formal educational setting. Training or experience working with neurodivergent students preferred, including adapting instruction and supporting a variety of learning, communication, sensory, and behavioral needs. Experience working with diverse communities; multi-lingual is a plus. Ability to lift 30 pounds and move comfortably throughout the Museum, classroom spaces, and offsite locations. A valid driver's license. Personal Attributes Proven ability to work collaboratively while also taking initiative independently. Punctual, dependable, with strong attention to detail and follow-through. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Interest and/or background in STEM. Positive attitude and adaptability.
