Job Description

Summary Mora High School is seeking a Physical Education Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a lifelong appreciation for physical fitness and healthy living. This position involves planning and implementing engaging physical education programs that promote physical, social, and emotional well-being among students. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment and encourage students to reach their full potential through active participation in various sports and fitness activities. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum aligned with state standards and school goals. Teach a variety of physical activities, including team sports, individual sports, fitness, and health education. Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development. Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and teamwork. Promote the importance of physical fitness and healthy lifestyle choices through classroom discussions and activities. Organize and supervise extracurricular sports programs, including practices and competitions. Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to integrate physical education with other subjects and promote overall student wellness. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and participation. Stay updated on current trends and best practices in physical education and health. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field. Valid state teaching license in Physical Education. Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum and teaching methods. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and engage students of varying skill levels. Experience in coaching or leading sports teams is preferred. Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment. CPR and First Aid certification is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community.
