commensurate with experience Position Summary St. Louis Community College is seeking an Adjunct Precision Machining Instructor to teach any of six introductory machining courses based on the NIMS level 1 credentials. Courses may include job planning, benchwork, and layout, manual machining 1 or 2, introduction to CNC, measurement, materials and safety or blueprint reading. Instruction includes both theoretical and hands-on components focused on safe and effective machine operation. This position will be scheduled for day time teaching, primarily. Primary Duties Performed Prepare and deliver lectures and laboratory exercises related to precision machining Instruct students on NIMS preparation for testing and projects Provide hands-on training in safe and effective machine operations. Evaluate student learning and provide constructive feedback. Maintain readiness and operational condition of the machines and measurement equipment. Qualifications/Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Machining or related field, and/or a combination of education, training, and tested experience. Combination of education, training, and tested experience Associates degree, or 5 years of professional experience, or a license in course topic Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a field related to Machining/Manufacturing or related field Prior college-level teaching experience. Working Conditions Evening, weekend, or online teaching assignments may be required depending on course scheduling
Physical Requirements:
Negligible to moderate physical activity, which may include standing for extended periods, light lifting of instructional materials, and use of standard classroom or computer equipment.
