Position Description Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach Construction Management classes. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis. Responsibilities and Duties (•Essential Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment Grades and returns student work in a timely manner Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction Stays abreast of the most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate Attends professional development opportunities when possible
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficient with MS Office products including MS Word and Excel Ability to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning Innovative, creative, motivated Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others Ability to maintain records accurately and consistently meet deadlines Good organizational skills Ability to perform normal duties with minimal supervision Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Requirements:

If your transcripts are not submitted, your application may not receive full consideration.•Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or related field Two years of relevant experience in construction management or five years of relevant experience in industry construction Computer skills using basic functions of
MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook Preferences:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or other related field One year of teaching experience in Construction Management in a post-secondary school Current industry-recognized certification within the field of construction management (e.g., Certified Construction Manager, OSHA, etc.) Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems
