Job Description

The MWV Career and Technical Center at Kennett High School seeks a Drafting & Design Technology Instructor. This position offers a qualified individual the opportunity to teach a program that prepares students to apply their technical skills to create working drawings and computer simulations for various applications. Includes instruction in specification interpretation, dimensioning techniques, drafting calculations, material estimation, technical communications, computer applications, and interpersonal communications.
QUALIFICATIONS
New Hampshire Teacher Certification or Statement of Eligibility required in Drafting & Design Technology CP# 151301 Minimum two years experience in drafting, design, or engineering Bachelor's degree or higher in drafting, design, or engineering Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL
The goal of the Drafting & Design Technology Instructor is to prepare students for future success in college and careers by: Developing a strong work ethic within students is vital to success. Involving students in solving industry-related problems by applying technical, math, reading, and writing skills. Developing within students an understanding of the drafting, design, engineering, and architecture industry and the sector's role in the community and beyond. Developing within students the technical and safety skills required to enter an engineering and architecture college degree program or career.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaches skills and knowledge in Drafting & Design Technology, utilizing
NH DOE CTE
competencies, locally developed curriculum, and other appropriate learning activities. Utilizes student assessment and curriculum resources to establish objectives and inform planning for student learning. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere. Exhibits positive human relations skills. Communicates promptly and positively with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups. Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication. Maintains and submits records and reports promptly. Engages in professional growth & demonstrates professional ethics & leadership. Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned and federally purchased property. Ability to develop and maintain positive relations with industry-related entities. Advises the SkillsUSA - Drafting organization. Maintains an active advisory committee consisting of local educators, community members, and current and past students utilizing the group to support the students and curriculum. Other duties as assigned by the Director.
