The South Jersey Innovation Center (SJIC) in Cherry Hill, NJ is seeking a part-time Roblox & Minecraft Coding Instructor to teach beginner through intermediate classes for elementary and middle school students. We are looking for creative, dependable individuals who are passionate about technology, gaming, and coding and who enjoy working with kids. SJIC offers a variety of innovative, hands-on STEM programs, including coding, robotics, engineering, game development, 3D printing, math, chess, and more. Our classes emphasize creativity, project-based learning, and learning by doing . Key Responsibilities Prepare and teach engaging Roblox and/or Minecraft coding and game-development lessons Introduce students to programming, game design, problem-solving, and computational thinking Help students create their own games, worlds, challenges, and interactive projects Manage small classes with students of different ages and experience levels Use available tools, tutorials, and educational resources to keep students engaged Personalize projects based on student interests and abilities— creativity is strongly encouraged! Teach technologies you are already comfortable with while being willing to learn new tools alongside students Requirements Experience with Roblox Studio and/or Minecraft Understanding of programming concepts; experience with Lua/Luau, Python, Scratch, or similar languages is helpful College students studying Computer Science, Engineering, Game Design, Education, or other technology-related fields are strongly encouraged to apply Graduates and professionals with relevant technology or game-development experience are also welcome Experience working with or teaching children in a formal or informal setting Patient, enthusiastic, reliable, and comfortable communicating with young students Experience with kid-friendly STEM education platforms is desirable but not required Availability to teach 1-2 days per week during weekday afternoons/evenings and/or weekends Ideal Candidate You don't need to be an expert in every technology we teach. We're looking for someone who can connect with students, make technology exciting, and help kids turn their ideas into working projects .
