Job Description:
The Division of Workforce Development & Community Education is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach non-credit Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word certification preparation courses for adult learners. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, hands-on, in-person instruction designed to prepare students for Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification exams and success in today's workforce. The Adjunct Instructor will provide computer lab-based classroom instruction in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word to a diverse population of adult learners participating in workforce development and continuing education programs, including individuals returning to education, upskilling, or pursuing career transitions. Instruction should emphasize practical application, digital literacy, workplace readiness, and certification preparation, while fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes student success.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, and at least one (1) year of relevant practical or instructional experience, are required. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 365, with advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, data visualization, charts, and macros, as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including document creation, formatting, templates, mail merge, and collaboration tools. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to engage adult learners through active, hands-on instruction and effectively integrate technology into the classroom environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse student population representing varied educational backgrounds, skill levels, and lived experiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Information Technology, Business, or a related field is strongly preferred. Teaching experience in higher education, adult education, and/or workforce training environments is strongly preferred. Candidates who possess Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications in Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint are highly desirable. Experience teaching non-credit workforce development or computer-based training programs for adult learners is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, student success, workforce readiness, and the mission and goals of a community college, with the ability to effectively support learners from diverse educational, cultural, and professional backgrounds.

WORK SCHEDULE
Fridays 9:30 am-1:30 pm at the Valhalla campus.

RATE OF PAY
The hourly rate of pay is $63.20. No benefits.
