In-Person $30.00 per Hour 1 Years Experience Vocational/Technical Certificate No Commission 10.00 hours per week / Day Shift / Part-Time Description Join the Education Technology Institute as a Casual Driver's Education Instructor, where you will guide new drivers in developing the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed for safe and responsible driving. In this role, you will lead permit-preparation classes, provide behind-the-wheel instruction, and support students through every stage of the learning process. Ideal candidates are patient, organized educators with strong communication skills and a commitment to safety.
What You Do:
Deliver engaging classroom instruction on vehicle functions, PA driving laws, and permit preparation. Provide behind-the-wheel driving lessons tailored to each student's skill level and learning pace. Teach practical driving skills including parking, turning, defensive driving, and hazard response. Support students in building confidence and managing stress while learning to drive. Take control of the vehicle in emergency or safety-critical situations when necessary. Track, document, and report student progress and readiness for the driving test. Submit monthly statistics and required documentation. Report any accidents immediately to the Compliance Manager.
What You Bring:
Education:
Licensure as a Private Driver Training School Instructor (PDTS), or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience as a driving instructor. Strong problem-solving skills with sound independent judgment. Excellent organization, accountability, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Basic computer skills and ability to operate standard office equipment.
Requirements:
Current Act 33, Act 34, FBI/DPW, and NSOR clearances; valid PA driver's license with a clean driving record; verification of auto insurance; reliable transportation; ability to work alternative hours and locations.
