- Department of Surgery (MUSC) The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Surgery seeks an accomplished education leader to provide strategic vision and operational oversight of its educational mission spanning medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty.
This is a non-clinical leadership role suited for an established education scholar with expertise in qualitative research, curriculum design, and faculty development. Reporting to the Chair of Surgery, this position is anticipated to evolve into an Associate or Vice Chair role. The successful candidate will partner with program directors, clerkship leadership, and division chiefs to develop a nationally recognized education program, advance educational scholarship, and mentor the next generation of surgeon-educators.
Qualifications:
PhD or master's degree (MEd, MHPE, EdD, MS, or equivalent) in education or a related field Demonstrated expertise in qualitative research Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation in health professions education Strong track record of mentorship and scholarly productivity
Preferred Experience:
Experience working with surgical or procedural specialties and demonstrated national leadership in organizations such as ASE, AAMC, SDRME, or similar.
