Position Overview The University of Tennessee Southern enthusiastically invites applications for the position of Instructor of Kinesiology in the Grissom School of Education. The position is a full-time, 9-month faculty position, beginning August 2026. We seek candidates with expertise in teaching undergraduate Kinesiology courses and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education, student mentorship, and meaningful service to the institution and community.
Required Qualifications:
This is an on-campus position Master's degree in Kinesiology or related field. Ability to engage students through active learning and evidence-based pedagogy. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in qualifying discipline (Kinesiology or other related discipline) Experience in Higher Education Experience teaching Physical Education in a K-12 setting.
Required Licensure or Certifications:
Certification(s) from recognized professional organizations (e.g., ACSM, NSCA).

The successful candidate will:
Teach undergraduate courses in Kinesiology (e.g. Advanced Strength and Conditioning, Administration of Tests & Measurements in
PE, Assessment and Care of Athletic Injuries, Philosophy & Techniques of Coaching, Competition:
The Pursuit of Excellence, Cardiovascular Exercise Physiology, Activity Skills:
Individual and Team Sports) Develop and revise course materials to reflect current research and best practices. Participate in departmental service, including curriculum development, assessment, and student recruitment. Engage in professional development to maintain expertise in the field.
