Job Description

REQUIRED
: Bachelor's Degree preferred; (see options 1,2, or 3 below) Valid State of Texas Certi?cation in one of the following: (1)
Technology Education:
Grades 6-12. (2)
Trade and Industrial Education:
Grades 8-12 This assignment requires appropriate work approval. Or eligibility letter from an Alternative Certi?cation Program Work Experience Requirement Option 1
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • two (2) years of full-time wage-earning experience within the past ten years in an approved occupation for the classes you will be teaching Option 2
  • Associates' degree from an accredited institution
  • two (2) years of full-time wage-earning experience within the past ten years in an approved occupation for the classes you will be teaching Option 3
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • five (5) years of full-time wage-earning experience within the past ten years in an approved occupation for the classes you will be teaching
PREFERRED
: NCCER Craft Instructor Certified The role of the B uilding Trades Education Teacher is to provide instruction in construction, carpentry, residential building systems, blueprint reading, safety practices, and related trades. The teacher prepares students for careers in the construction industry through classroom instruction, laboratory activities, hands-on projects, and industry-based certifications and other related duties as assigned.
