Job Description

Snow College is seeking an energetic and industry-focused Automotive Technology Instructor to join the Transportation Technology Department at the Richfield Campus. This position offers an opportunity to shape the next generation of automotive technicians through innovative teaching, hands-on training, and meaningful industry engagement. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in classroom and laboratory settings while building strong partnerships with industry and secondary education programs. This faculty member will help students gain technical knowledge, practical experience, and workforce readiness skills needed for successful careers in the automotive industry. Minimum Qualifications Industry experience across multiple automotive technology disciplines including engines, drivetrain systems, brakes, suspension and steering, electrical and electronics, and heating and air conditioning systems. Demonstrated technical expertise and commitment to workforce development. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Ability to work effectively with students from diverse academic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Five or more years of automotive industry experience. Teaching experience in secondary education, higher education, or industry training environments. Experience using learning management systems such as Canvas. Curriculum development experience. ASE Certification or willingness to obtain certification. Associate degree or higher preferred. Primary Teaching Areas ASE Engine Repair ASE Automatic Transmission and Transaxles ASE Steering and Suspension ASE Manual Drivetrain and Axles ASE Brakes ASE Electrical ASE Heating and Air Conditioning ASE Engine Performance Introduction to EV/Hybrid Safety and Basics Vehicle Light Maintenance Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Student Success Deliver engaging classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory training. Create an effective learning environment that supports diverse student populations. Develop and maintain curriculum aligned with industry standards. Evaluate student performance through assessments, lab activities, and competency demonstrations. Monitor attendance, progress, and completion while providing support resources when needed. Maintain course quality and continuously improve instructional delivery. Support competency-based and workforce-focused education models. Maintain a professional learning environment focused on student achievement. Program Development and Growth Assist in growing the Automotive Technology program through recruitment and community outreach. Build relationships with local high schools and Career and Technical Education partners. Collaborate with faculty to strengthen program offerings and student pathways. Support alignment efforts with secondary and post-secondary institutions. Industry Engagement Develop and maintain partnerships with automotive employers and industry organizations. Facilitate internships, employment opportunities, and advisory committee involvement. Stay current with emerging automotive technologies and workforce trends. Pursue professional development and maintain relevant certifications. Department and College Service Participate in college committees and institutional initiatives. Contribute to program planning, budgeting, and equipment acquisition. Collaborate with faculty and administration to support departmental goals.
