Job Description
Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support one elementary student in a school setting in Albemarle, NC. This role requires strong experience in educational interpreting, specifically within K-12 environments, along with proficiency in state-mandated tools and licensure compliance.
Key Qualifications:
Active NCDPI Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license is mandatory; please attach proof of current licensure EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher required Experience with ECATS (Educational Child Tracking System) essential Prior experience working in North Carolina schools preferred Strong communication skills, reliability, and professionalism in educational environmentsLocation and Work Schedule:
Position based at a middle school in North Stanly County, North Carolina Contract period: August 4, 2026, through May 28, 2027 Full-time hours, approximately 37.5 hours per weekResponsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation services to support one elementary student's educational needs Collaborate with school staff and related service providers to facilitate effective communication Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state regulations and school policies Utilize the ECATS platform for entering necessary data and progress reports Participate in meetings, training, and continuing education as requiredBenefits:
