Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to a dynamic educational setting, supporting student growth in an engaging environment. This contract opportunity near Van Buren, AR, focuses on working one-on-one with a middle school student, providing interpretation services in classroom and school-related activities. The role begins mid-August and continues through late May, offering full-time hours and the chance to build strong relationships with both students and staff.
Key Qualifications:
Current Interpreter License required for the state Proficient in sign language interpretation within educational contexts Experience or understanding of supporting students in classroom environments Preference given to candidates who are bilingual Ability to work onsite throughout the school day Professionalism, reliability, and strong communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation for a middle school student in both academic and extracurricular settings Facilitate effective communication between the student, peers, and staff Adapt interpretation style to meet the needs of various classroom activities and environments Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure full student participation Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all institution policies and regulations
