Job Description
Job SummaryThe Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator assists and coordinates EHS programs, policies and procedures. They are responsible for working with the EHS team in order to ensure that Creekstone Farms is the safest it can be and in compliance with all regulations and practices that are in place. This individual will perform these functions using a continuous improvement mentality and will work to perpetuate a "Creekstone Proud" culture through attitude and actions.
Perform new hire and/or contactor orientation(s), when necessaryPerform additional duties as assigned by the EH&S Manager/EH&S Assistant Manager Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBachelors Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety Management or similar major, and 0-1 year of experience requiredAbility to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information while meeting stringent deadlinesExcellent problem solving and analytical skillsAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingFunctional with basic office software Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Internet navigation, etc.
Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain a professional demeanor in all situationsEnthusiasm, good attitude, integrity, and honesty are requiredGood human relation skills demonstrating ability to work with employees throughout the organizationAbility to present ideas, concepts, issues, concerns, and questions in a well thought out, positive, and professional mannerExcellent organizational and time management skillsAble to work on a team and be a proactive problem solverMust possess a keen attention to detail
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Walk the manufacturing floor on a regular basis to establish EH&S presence and provide supportPerform routine safety observations to ensure and enforce compliance with regulatory agencies, as well as company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practicesObserve EH&S regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnelAssist in compliance reviews/audits, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support the Environmental, Health and Safety DepartmentBe a participant of the Hazard Risk Assessment Team in the development and maintaining of Qualitative Hazard Risk Assessments (QHRAs)Provide assistance and advice on EH&S issues to make recommendations to facility managementAssist in the development and presentation of relevant EH&S trainingAbility to work with employees and achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistanceMaintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agenciesAssist the EH&S Manager/EH&S Assistant Manager with the development and implementation of safety programs, compliance plans, and other EH&S initiativesParticipate in detailed Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis of incidents, near misses and property damage incidents, under the direction of the EH&S Manger. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and proper records/documents are maintainedKeep abreast of any safety and environmental law or regulation changes that impact the organizationAbility to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPELearn to perform Storm Water Discharge sampling and document eventsAssist in emergency response and provide first aid treatmentAssist in administering and maintaining compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc.Perform new hire and/or contactor orientation(s), when necessaryPerform additional duties as assigned by the EH&S Manager/EH&S Assistant Manager Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBachelors Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety Management or similar major, and 0-1 year of experience requiredAbility to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information while meeting stringent deadlinesExcellent problem solving and analytical skillsAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingFunctional with basic office software Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Internet navigation, etc.
