Job Description
Description What you will do Foster a safe work environment and lead by example, adhering to and enforcing all safety and regulatory procedures. Promptly acting on unsafe situations. Immediately report potential food safety or product quality issues to the management staff or shift supervisor. At least 70% of time is spent in the production environment supporting a variety of EHS activities which can including: Managing employee's safety concerns Workplace Inspections Risk Assessments - New and Updating Safety Walks with different teams and Plant Leadership Contractor Inspections Programmed Safety Focused Audits Management of Change (Machines, work areas, etc.) Updating safety communications and contractor safety boards Perform weekly inspections of Hazardous Waste Storage Areas Perform Stormwater Inspections Sign Waste Manifests Perform environmental/DOT training Prepare and submit required reports monthly/quarterly/semiannual/annually. Chemical approval review for safety and environmental impacts Gather/record environmental data (Monthly air emissions, Oxidizer readings, etc.) Periodic review of government websites for regulation changes The balance of time is used for administrative tasks such as: Leads Safety Team Ensuring local authorities, regulations, rules and codes, programs and policies related to safety are observed. Including interfacing with authorities when required and ensuring accurate record keeping and reporting. Participating in corporate safety audits and follow up. Ensuring accident/injury investigations are completed, causes of incidents are identified and preventive action steps are completed. Coordinating with Human Resources to ensure that all required safety training is developed, scheduled, conducted and managed according to an established timeline.
